Barium Nitrate is a salt of Barium and Nitrate Ion and it naturally occurs as mineral nitrobarite. Barium nitrate exists as white crystalline or white powdery substance at room temperature. Barium Nitrate is manufactured by dissolving small chunks of barium carbonate in Nitric Acid allowing any iron particles to precipitate and then it is filter, evaporated and crystallized.
Barium Nitrate can also be made by combining Barium Chloride with a heated solution of Sodium Nitrate causing Barium Nitrate crystals to separate from the mixture.
